I'm walking the length of the Earth
Background
I’m an Aussie in pursuit of becoming the first woman to walk the length of the Earth.
It bugged me that in the 35 years since it was first completed, no women had achieved the same feat… so I began planning.
Officially, three men have walked from Argentina to Alaska but only one (the first) has walked from the polar most extreme cities – This is what I have undertaken.
Three years on, I had walked the length of Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador. After crossing into Colombia, the 2020 pandemic was declared and my expedition was shutdown.
2 years later, I returned.
Since then I completed the length of Colombia becoming the first woman to walk the length of South America.
I continued through Central America via Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatamala – at which point I celebrated the half way mark with a Volcano climb.
I entered Mexico following remote bike packing trails to finally arrive in the United States at the starting point of the Continental Divide Trail – which I am now close to finishing as I approach the Canadian Border.
Next up I will commence the final long trail of my journey, The Great Divide which runs along the border of Alberta and British Columbia, before entering a remote road system that will lead me, eventually, to the north of Alaska!
Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others. ~ Amelia Earhart
