Trails through Ecuador
The Trans Ecuador trails were designed by the Dammer brothers. 99% of cyclists use the dirt road version. I used the single track which at times was seriously overgrown but absolutely worth it (if you’re hiking).
⚠️ I will say this: if you’re not experienced with high altitudes (above 4500m / 14700 ft) , do the trail in reverse by starting in the South of Ecuador. The northern area is remote and the highest section. If you become ill from the altitude (which you likely will) you will wish you’d paid attention to this warning.
